BE COOKED UNDER GRACE

Hey friend;
I heard an unusual sound from our neighbourhood two days ago, decided to follow up the sound being produced intermittently. I later discovered it was coming from a pressure cooker from one of our neighbour’s compound. I immediately recollected we used to have a similar pot while growing up. I should have uploaded this writing earlier, though…

There’re some attributes peculiar to this pot;
every necessary condiment is prepared with the raw food item from the start and poured at once into the pot, the pot is locked and until the “food is done”, it won’t be opened or exposed, it produces sound at timed intervals when the “food is done” to bring to the notice of the person cooking, it gets food cooked in a shorter period when compared to the conventional pot due to many reasons.

My point is, just as the sunrise is far from the sunset, there is a vast margin between this pressure cooker and the ordinary pot. You can notice this, from the peculiarities listed earlier.
Some folks are like the conventional pot too. The conventional pot unlike the pressure pot will have the needed condiment added at a later time than at the start of the cooking, the pressure in the pot always forces the lid of the pot open ‘cos it wasn’t locked in the first place, the cooking sound of the food is being heard “once it starts boiling” other than “when the food is done”, there is opportunity to always check if the food is done anytime, the cook would have known the probable time for the food to get done though, but the cooking sound from the ordinary pot won’t stop deceiving, making sounds when not yet done.

Someone growing under the law would always make sounds when not yet done, deceiving people around just like the ordinary pot, you hear him saying; “I no longer drink”, but will forget to tell you, he still womanizes, “I no longer steal”, but will forget to tell you, he still kills. I can go and on with the list, but ain’t here for that.

Someone growing under the law would always want to portray that he’s perfectly cooked, making deceiving sounds at every stage. He will always be checking if a particular sin is no more resident in his life and if he has attained another level of growth; so self-conscious. Just like the ordinary pot, he would want to force the lid open, “I’m done; no need for God to cook me more, I can do it”. He’s just so dependent on his strength rather than God’s strength, he’ll not get cooked till forever ‘cos the lid has been opened and instead of being freshly prepared at God’s rate, he gets burnt, yet not cooked. Hope you got that?

Dear friend; I know you wouldn’t want to be like this folk growing under the law like a food being cooked with the ordinary pot, but will always wait for the appointed time to produce the sound, you see the pressure pot produces the sound only when it is done, you would always trust in the one cooking you and not your strength, and you have that understanding that every spices you would ever need has been added to your life the moment you believed, plus the understanding that He that has begun a good work in you will bring it to completion. At the end, you would discover that you’re THOROUGHLY COOKED, YET NOT BURNT and at a faster time, ‘cos every moment is a cooking period. Unlike the one growing under the law, every moment is saved and useful, cos your lid is closed until done.

Fret not friends, God will finish cooking what He has started in you.
